Week 2: Lego Club ~ STEAM Camp
Mr. Rauenzahn's
Lego Club ~ STEAM Camp
This summer camp focuses on enhancing the students' Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math skills... all while building with Legos, utilizing iPads/LapTops and following the design process.
Day 1: Popsicle Clothespin Towers
Students used popsicle sticks and clothespins to build different styles of towers using various strategies and designs.
Some students added Legos to their towers as the finishing touch.
How high could you build your tower?
Day 2: Legoman Parachutes
Students used supplies to construct a parachute for a Lego Person. After testing their designs, students made modifications to their projects so the parachutes would work better.
Day 3: Stickbots -Stop Motion Movies
Students used Stikbots and the free Stikbot app to make stop motion movies. They used the green boxes as a green screen to add backdrops to their movies. By taking pictures of a Stikbot and moving it to different positions, students created a movie that looks like the Stikbot is moving on its own.
